Turboshaft Production Test Cell

Rolls Royce Deutschland – RTM322 Production Test Cell – 2003

In 2003, Rolls Royce Deutschland Oberursel (Germany) was the first operator outside the UK to perform the assembly of the RTM322-01/9 engine, destined to power the NH90 helicopter.

Cenco was proud to supply the equipment necessary for production testing of this very modern high-speed turboshaft engine.

The RTM322 engine is tested without a reduction gearbox, directly into a high-speed water dynamometer, allowing for a better reactivity of the applicable load.

We also equipped a second adjacent test cell with Cyres, our Data Acquisition and Control System, a flexible system that is used by RRD for testing Gnome and T53 engines.

With our latest project on-going with the Norwegian Air Force, and a previous project for PATRIA (Finland) in 2005, Cenco has an unmatched experience of the challenges that present the testing of a high-speed / high-power turboshaft engine such as the RTM322.
