Aero Acoustics

For many years now, Cenco International has invested a significant part of its energy on aerodynamic and acoustic control of test cell behaviour.

In Aero-Acoustics field, the main challenge is to find a compromise between improved technical features and optimized costs.
Customers look to optimize the size of their test cell for budget reasons while maintaining suitable aerodynamic condition for engine testing (by pass ratio, air flow speed, air flow distortion and thermal management of exhausts).
In parallel, the requirement for quieter operating noise levels challenges the existing technologies and contradicts the aimed compactness.

Cenco has invested in a lot of simulations tools and created models that use advanced CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics using FLUENT), CAS (Computational Acoustic Simulations using ACTRAN), CAA methods (Computational Aero Acoustics) and powerful computers for numerical computations (HPC: High Performance Computing).
Complementary to simulations, Cenco performs a lot of measurements to improve correlations between experimental and models. Those measurements represent the necessary link between experimentation and models to ensure the reliability of our models prediction.

Cenco has established partnerships with a network of experts throughout the world and within the Safran Group.

Cenco is also very attentive to the trends of aero-engine design (un-ducted fan architecture, High By Pass Ratio, Geared Turbofan, Contra-rotative turbofans, ACARE objectives, CleanSky greener air products).

We also propose our experience to customers with technical issues to perform aero or acoustical audit of existing test facilities in order to propose corrective solutions.
